Bandits on Tuesday night attacked a medium security Correctional Facility in Abuja, popularly known as Kuje Prison.
ThisNigeria reported that over 600 inmates had escaped during the attack on the facility that lasted for more than an hour in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Confirming the attack, the Defence Minister, Bashir Magashi said that all Boko Haram terrorists incarcerated in the prison had escaped.
He added that security had been tightened in the area as efforts were underway to recapture the escaped convicts.
