Plateau killings: Shortage of blood hits Jos hospitals

Redcross Nigeria in Plateau State on Thursday called on spirited members of the public and good Samaritans to donate blood to victims of the bloody attack carried out by suspected Fulani herdsmen at Yelwa Zangam village of Jos North Local Government Area.

It was gathered that the government-owned specialist hospital is hit by a shortage of blood and could no longer cope with the victim’s demand.

Mr. Mafeng Mark, Head, communications, Redcross Nigeria, in an SOS message on a What ups group, urged the General public to come and donate blood to the victims of recent attack admitted at various hospitals that might have run short of blood to save their souls.

The message, read:S. O. S, the Redcross Nigeria Plateau state hereby pleads with the general population to donate blood to victims of recent attacks.

“As a matter of urgency, please visit the Plateau specialist hospital for the donation, all types of blood are needed.

It could be recalled that over 35 Plateau citizens were killed in Jos North LGA on Tuesday night by suspected herdsmen.
