Police Arrest Fake Super Eagles Captain “Ahmed Musa”

Nigeria police Kano command has arrested a 30 year- old man, Gambo Yakubu, a resident of Brigade quarters in Kano metropolis , for allegedly impersonating Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa.

According to the police , the suspect was apprehended for committing the alleged offences of impersonation, defamation of character and fraud.

The spokesman, Kano command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa confirming the arrest of the fake Super Eagles captain said “On the 25/03/2020 at about 2330hrs, a complaint was received from one Musa Muhammad ‘m’ of Hotoro Quarters Kano, Manager of Ahmad Musa Sport Centre Kano, that one Gambo Yakubu, 30 years old of Brigade Quarters Kano, a former worker at the said Sport Centre, use to present himself as former captain of Super Eagles by name Ahmad Musa.

“That he forged documents bearing the name Ahmad Musa and defrauds innocent members of the public.

“On receipt of this complaint, the Commissioner of Police Kano State Command *CP Habu A. Sani, psc raised and directed a Team of detectives led by CSP Abdulkarim Abdullahi to arrest the culprit.

“On the 20/12/2020, the suspect was arrested and freely confessed to have defrauded more than fifteen (15) innocent citizens by collecting money from them pretending to be Ahmad Musa, selling forms at Five Thousand Naira (N5000) each to youths who want to play football abroad.

Kiyawa stated that , on completion of investigations by the police, the matter will be charged to court for prosecution.
