The Chairman, Enugu State Board of Internal Revenue, Mr. Emeka Odo said that poor leadership is Nigeria’s greatest problem.
He noted that a deficit of quality leadership is responsible for Nigeria’s socio-economic and political woes.
Mr. Odo who said this while fielding questions from newsmen also added that the problems of Nigeria would be resolved once the issue of leadership was taken care of.

Noting that it is the elite conspiracy that is keeping the country backward, Mr. Odo said that it is the responsibility of leaders to change society.
He maintained that leadership that was not working for the positive change of society should be changed.

Odo pointed out that in the private sector, sports, and even religious institutions once the leadership failed, change was the next option.
He also blamed the Nigerian elites who often foisted mediocre leaders on the citizenry for the slow pace of development in the country.
“If the elite decides to install credible candidates in the forthcoming elections the society will start working. People are being bought over during elections because the elites have strategically impoverished the people through lack of gainful employment,” he said.
In conclusion, the internal revenue boss wondered why Nigeria should be less developed than Dubai, Singapore and some of the world’s developed economies.
