Singer Portable has reacted to his disqualification as a nominee from the Headies Awards, adding that he doesn’t regret his actions.
Sharing a video of himself and his wife via Instagram, Portable said “I do music for a living ,I go by the name Portable, I thank God for my life.
“I got talent, I got God, I got money, I got fame,I got wife, I got children. God bless my family, I got moto, I got house, you don’t know ..I am blessed.”
ThisNigeria reported that the Headies on Tuesday disqualified Portable as a nominee from the forthcoming 15th Headies Awards.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the secretariat of the Headies via Instagram.
The statement reads” We regret to announce that following the numerous indictment statement made by Mr Habeeb Okikiola aka portable and the incessant negative attention that he has garnered from the Nigerian police and the general public in recent time, the organizers of headies has resolved to disqualify Mr Okikiola as a nominee from the forthcoming 15th Headies Awards.
“The decision to disqualify Mr Okikiola was accentuated by series of misdemeanor by Mr Okikiola via social media.
“On the 25th of may 2022 he threatened to kill,harm or cause harm to other nominees in the same categories he was nominated to, if he does not emerge the winner.
They also cited the now deleted viral video where portable admitted to being the founder of the 1 million cult group and a recording where he ordered his group of friend to assault and inflict bodily harm on his friend, DJ Chicken
“Being subject to an investigation on criminal activities. Mr Habeeb Okikiola is hereby disqualified from both categories of awards, “BEST STREET ARTISTE and ROOKIE OF THE YEAR” at the forthcoming 15th annual Headies scheduled to hold later this year.”
