The Proprietor of High Grace Nursery and Primary School, Ilorin, Mr. Rotimi Olaniyi, has called on public and private investors to support state governments in funding the education sector.
Olaniyi, who made the call in Ilorin on Friday said private investors should invest in education and not leave everything to the government.
According to him, the staggered education system in the country needs joint efforts to get back to its best.
“Private investors should also support the government in funding the education sector. We cannot leave it alone for government to do.

“As we can see in some schools, their old students are contributing and trying in their own way to invest in their former schools.
“It is a good idea to give back to your school. You can give back to school in many ways such as scholarship programs for best students, supplying furniture, and building infrastructures like standard library and science laboratories,” he said.
The proprietor said that investing in education did not necessarily mean establishing private schools to earn personal money rather support through funding the educational projects.
He described education as the bedrock of a nation and therefore called on government at all levels to prioritize education.
