Protest in Osun State over increase in electricity and petrol prices

The increase in electricity and fuel pricing has sparked a protest by the Coalition for Civil Societies in Osogbo, Osun state. The protest held yesterday at the Freedom Park around 8:30 am.
The protesters numbered into the hundreds and bore inscriptions that reflected their annoyance with the increase. They demand that the electricity distribution companies stop the unnecessary increase in prices and revert back to the old tariff.
Also, they showed their dissatisfaction over the fuel prices, which had been increased three times already, and now sells for N162.
In spite of the public dissatisfaction, the police are doing best to ensure that the protest is peaceful.
