The Minister of State for Housing, Yusuf Ata Abdullahi, has said the former governor of Kano State, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is no longer an attractive politician, saying the rumour of his coming to APC, if true, may bring more crisis to the party.
Abdullahi made this disclosure at the APC media centre when he visited the party’s National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, at the National Secretariat in Abuja. He stated that he knows Kwankwasiya very well and that the movement is dead in Kano.
He said, “Anybody who visits Kano State even today will see many changes. You will hardly find caps in Kano. Before the election, you will see many red caps if you visit any private mosque.
“But today, you can visit a mosque, and if 5000 people come for prayers, you will not see 20 red caps in Kano. So, we assure the President that we are not asking for anything less. We are strongly behind our national chairman. We have been discussing with him. This is the opinion of all the Kano State APC, even at the grassroots.
“As I said, Kwankwaso is no longer active in Kano. He is only coming to APC, and it’s not that we invited him. Because Kwankwasiya is going to die. I assure you, and even Mr. President, has all his records from the grassroots in Kano.
“He is no more attractive, no more alternative. So, he is struggling to be accommodated in the APC. That may bring about a lot of crises in the APC in Kano state. This is our position.”
