Renewed Hope Ambassadors defend Tinubu’s northern development record

By David Lawani, Abuja

The Renewed Hope Ambassadors have defended the development record of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Northern Nigeria, insisting that the administration is executing massive infrastructure and intervention projects across the region.

The group made the declaration after undertaking a media tour of ongoing Federal Government projects in the North-West alongside the Presidential Media Team.

In a statement issued by Tunde Rahman, the group dismissed claims that the Tinubu administration had neglected the North, calling them politically motivated.

According to the statement, the Federal Government is currently executing 48 out of the 260 Special Intervention Projects under the Federal Ministry of Works in the North-West zone alone, the highest allocation among the six geopolitical zones.

The delegation inspected major projects, including the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Highway, the Kaduna Western Bye-pass, the Kaduna-Kano-Katsina-Maradi Railway project, irrigation and ecological fund projects in Kano State, and sections of the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway in Kebbi State.

The group noted that several of the projects were at advanced stages of completion and would significantly improve transportation, agriculture, trade and economic activities across Northern Nigeria.

It also pointed to ongoing projects at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital and the establishment of the North West Development Commission as evidence of the administration’s commitment to the region’s development.

The statement maintained that critics alleging marginalisation of the North were merely engaging in politics ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“Seeing is believing regarding the scale of projects being undertaken under the Tinubu administration,” the group stated.
