The Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) in Rivers State have accused Governor Siminalayi Fubara of sponsoring the #EndBadGovernance protests in the state.
Chairman of PHALGA, Hon. Allwell Ihunda said this during a press conference held on Wednesday in Port Harcourt.
Ihunda, while speaking on behalf of the association, said that the protesters were being sponsored by Fubara against his predecessor, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike.
He stated that Fubara was complicit in the protest being held in the state after offering to buy refreshments for the protesters, who were also demanding the resignation of President Bola Tinubu.

He blamed the governor for letting the protest escalate by failing to taking a firm stance against the “implosive actions” of the protesters.
Ihunda stated further that Fubara’s justification of the protest, during his speech on the first day, was an indication of foul play by the governor who was supposed to ensure the security of lives and property in the state.
Also speaking during the conference, Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Hon. Chidi Lloyd accused Fubara of being the “real enemy of the state”, alleging that the protest was hijacked the moment the governor started funding the protesters.
Lloyd also alleged that the protest was being used by Fubara as a means to call for the sack of the FCT Minister, Wike.
He then urged Nigerians to give President Tinubu some time for his policies to begin to yield good results.
