Robbers strike in Akure, carts away valuables worth millions of naira

Robbers have besieged Ajipowo estate, along Ondo road in Akure, where they burgled no fewer than thirteen shops and carted away goods worth millions of naira.

Prospect shop owners came to open their shops on Tuesday morning only to meet their shops burgled.

The robbers broke into one of the shops in the complex from behind to gain entry to other shops through the roofs, carrying all stolen items through the roofs.

They were able to carry away items such as generating sets, bags of Rice and other food stuffs , high cost of fabrics, many sets of shoes, exotic drinks among others.

One of the shop owners, Alice Oni she just stocked her shops through loans she obtained without even commenced repayment.

A community leader in the area, Jacob Orisayomi lamented that Ajipowo Estate is notorious of incessant attack by robbers, stressing that many business owners have packed up due to various incidents of robbery witness in the community.

He called on colleague landlords in the community to collaborate with security agencies to address lingering criminality in Ajipowo Community.
