The Nigerian police has arrested embattled Resident Electoral commissioner in Adamawa state, Hudu Yunusa.
Yunusa’s arrest was announced in a statement by the Force Public Relation Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi on Tuesday.
Recall that INEC had suspended Yunusa after his illegal announcement of the All-Progressive Congress candidate, Aishatu BInani as the winner of the Adamawa state election before the votes count was completed.
However, following calls for his arrest after his illegal declaration, the police declared him missing.
His arrest is coming hours after his interview with BBC hausa where he declared that he’ll surrender to the police.
