SW governors, Ministers visit Lagos for assessment

In a move to douse tensions following the End SARS protests, President Muhammadu Buhari has sent his cabinet members to their home states.

This move has prompted a delegation of Southwest governors and some ministers to visit Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in order to commiserate with him over the loss of lives and the wanton destruction of property following the Lekki shootings.

Governors of Ondo state, Rotimi Akeredolu, Ekiti state, Kayode Fayemi and Oyo state Seyi Makinde visited Lagos.

Former governor of Lagos State and Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, led a delegation to Lagos that included Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, Minister of mines and industries, Olamilekan Adegbite, Minister of trade and investment, Niyi Adebayo and Minister of State for health, Olorunnibe Mamora.

In the company of newspeople, all delegates went on a tour of the destroyed properties in Lagos.

At the Lekki tollgate, Fashola found a hidden camera during the assessment which he handed over to Sanwo-Olu for forensic analysis and evaluation.

“I think this will help with the ongoing investigations into the shootings at the  Lekki Toll Gate. It requires forensic analysis and could be used in the investigations to unravel the mystery surrounding the shootings at the Toll Gate, I believe,” Fashola said.
