Properties destroyed by explosion at Lambata town

An explosion at Lambata town in Gawu Babangida LGA, Niger state, razed five houses and forty-nine shops in the area.

The explosion occurred as a result of a tanker, which was laden with thirty-six thousand litres of fuel, colliding with a trailer while impatiently trying to avoid segments of the bad road.

It was reported that no lives were lost due to the explosion and accident, and this largely lent to the fact that there was little activity in the area because shops were not open at the time.

The site of the explosion and affected buildings were evaluated by State Emergency Management Agency Officials who would ensure that the appropriate authorities receive the reports of their evaluation.
