Covid-19 update: Jigawa records 12 deaths, 47 cases

Jigawa state has recorded 12 deaths and 47 new covid 19 cases, bringing the total number of fatalities and cases to 12 and 386 respectively.
The state Governor Badaru Abubakar confirmed this while briefing  newsmen at the state government house in Dutse the state capital.
According to him, the state government has reopened all the treatment and isolation centers in the state in order to accommodate the rising number of cases recently recorded.
The Governor however expressed worry over the uncertain virulence of the new strain of the coronavirus which was only discovered in the second wave.
He said “we must institute measures to protect our dear state in conformity with national covid 19 control guidelines of the federal government.”
He continued “Henceforth, civil servants from grade  level 12 below would work from home from the 24th of December for an initial period of two weeks. Personal hygiene, social distancing must be observed and facemask must be worn in public places.”
According to him, the state has no option rather than to re- cleansed to it’s past giant effort’s in the fight against the menace of the pandemics.
On the 47 new cases stated government is given the issues much attention  through  contact tracing, among other preventive measures aimed to safeguards and protect the lives of the state populace.
Shedding more light on closure of schools, Governor Badaru assured that the closure will not affect their resumption dates, stressing we do hope to conquer the fight of Covid-19 before schools resumption period.
