
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated former Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) President, Onueze Chukwujinka Joe Okocha (OFR, SAN), among the 68 ambassadorial nominees forwarded to the Senate for confirmation.
Okocha, a renowned legal luminary, is a former Chairman of the Body of Benchers and one of the country’s most respected senior advocates.
His nomination has drawn widespread commendation from legal circles, political stakeholders, and community leaders.
Supporters have described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of his decades of contribution to national development.
One commentator noted that Okocha’s selection is “not just a national acknowledgment but a moment of pride for Ikwerre land, Rivers State, and indeed all Nigerians,” praising his “distinguished service, legal brilliance, and unwavering commitment to the advancement of the nation.”
