By Ben Ogbemudia

The Independent Corrupt Practices and other offences Commission on Thursday withdrew the case of bribery against Hon. Johnson Oghuma, representing Etsako West Federal Constituency of Edo State.  He had been accused  of collecting the sum of N1.6 million as bribe.

Justice (Mrs.) Adebukola Banjoko of the FCT Court 5 discharged and acquitted Hon. Oghuma, forthwith.

Oghuma became a member of the House of Representatives courtesy of bye-election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2017, after Philip Shaibu who was representing the same area was elected as the deputy governor of Edo state.

The ICPC had earlier alleged that Hon. Oghuma collected kickbacks from contractors handling school projects in his constituency.
