Tinubu: I Haven’t Left The Country

Former governor of Lagos and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has debunked the news making the rounds that he ‘fled’ the country alongside some members of his family, following the protests which swept through the state.
Speaking during a solidarity visit to governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Tinubu said: “It’s fake news. Gone where? I still hold the title of Asiwaju of Lagos, and I am still the Jagaban. They said my son Seyi was kidnapped and attacked in London, but he is here. It’s fake news all over the place.”
He commended Gov.Sanwo-Olu for being proactive and rising to the challenge of the uprising.
During the protests which engulfed many parts of Lagos, private and public buildings were burnt and looted by persons believed to be hoodlums.
By weekend, normalcy had begun to return to parts of the state even though there were pockets of skirmishes in Ikeja and Agege areas, which was also brought under control.
Some sections of the media reported that Asiwaju Tinubu had fled the country, while his son was almost waylaid on his way out.
The APC national leader said he had not left the country because of the protests.
