Transcorp rewards shareholders with ₦20.3bn dividend

Transnational Corporation Plc has declared a total dividend payout of ₦20.32 billion to shareholders for the 2025 financial year, as investors commended the conglomerate’s sustained growth and strong financial performance at its 20th Annual General Meeting held in Abuja.

The company, popularly known as Transcorp Group, approved a dividend of ₦2.00 per share, comprising an interim dividend of 40 kobo per share already paid in August 2025 and a final dividend of ₦1.60 per share.

The AGM, held at the newly completed Transcorp Centre, Abuja, also ratified the Group’s audited financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2025.

Speaking at the meeting, Group Chairman Tony O. Elumelu said the conglomerate remained committed to sustainable, long-term value creation despite prevailing macroeconomic challenges.

“Transcorp Group remains firmly focused on strong corporate governance and the disciplined execution of its strategic priorities to deliver sustainable, long-term value,” Elumelu stated.

“Despite a challenging macroeconomic environment, the Group continues to benefit from its diversified portfolio, which has underpinned resilient financial performance in 2025,” he added.

The conglomerate recorded major growth across key financial indicators during the review period. Revenue rose by 33 per cent from ₦408 billion in 2024 to ₦544 billion in 2025, while Profit Before Tax increased by 31 per cent to ₦179.5 billion.

Profit After Tax climbed by 44 per cent from ₦94.1 billion in the previous year to ₦135.9 billion in 2025.

The Group’s combined market capitalisation stood at ₦4.78 trillion as of May 7, 2026.

President and Group Chief Executive Officer, Owen D. Omogiafo, described the 2025 financial year as one driven by “disciplined execution, strategic resolve and resilient performance.”

She reiterated the company’s commitment to addressing Nigeria’s energy deficit through its investments in the power sector.

“We have an energy situation, and the gap between demand and supply is still very wide. Hence, we will continue to work assiduously and tirelessly towards bridging that gap, creating value for the wider country,” Omogiafo said.

She added that the newly unveiled 5,000-seat Transcorp Centre in Abuja reflected the company’s expanding footprint in the hospitality sector.

Shareholders at the meeting applauded the Board and management for the company’s consistent growth trajectory.

One of the shareholders, Mrs E.O. Obideyi, praised the management and staff for sustaining year-on-year performance.

“I commend the management and staff of Transcorp for sustained performance year-on-year. While we appreciate the Board, I am also extending my commendation to the members of staff of Transcorp for a job well done,” she said.

Another shareholder, Mr Moses Igrude, hailed the company’s transformation under Elumelu’s leadership.

“When I look at the history and how far it has come under Mr Tony Elumelu’s leadership, I am proud that the aim and objectives are being achieved,” he stated.

Transcorp Group has strategic investments spanning power, hospitality and energy. Its subsidiaries include Transcorp Power Plc and Transcorp Hotels Plc, owners of the iconic Transcorp Hilton Abuja.
