
A Grade I Area Court in Karu Abuja, on Wednesday, sentenced Abdulhamid Sani,25, to six months imprisonment for stealing iron rods from a building site.
The Judge, Malam Inuwa Maiwada sentenced Sani, who lives in Jikwoyi phase II, Abuja after he pleaded guilty to theft.
Maiwada gave the convict an option to pay a fine of N30, 000.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Ade Adeyanju told the court that during the investigation, the convict confessed to the crime and the rods he stole were recovered immediately.

He said the matter was reported at the Jikwoyi Police Station by Tijjani Sani of Jikwoyi phase1, FCT, Abuja.
He said that the offense contravened the provisions of sections 348, 327, 287 of the Penal Code.
