Ifeyinwa Ezeiruaku, a member of the National Youth Service Corps, has broken her silence following an assault on her by a female soldier in Calabar.
Journalist Agba Jalingo had shared a video showing the soldier identified as Lt Chika Anele, pouring muddy water on Ifeyinwa who was on her knees.
The video went viral and sparked an outrage on social media, with people calling for justice for the corps member.
The Nigerian Army, however, condemned Anele’s action and assured Nigerians that she would be tried for her unprofessional conduct.
Speaking at the Murtala Mohammed Airport on Friday, September 24, Ifeyinwa who was redeployed to Lagos after the incident said she had been receiving a lot of love from Nigerians since the video went viral.
She also stated that she was not in any way intimidated by the Nigerian Army, adding that the incident left her “feeling very embarrassed.”
