A total of nine persons have been rescued alive from the rubbles of a collapsed building in Ikoyi.
Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr Obafemi Hamzat confirmed the development while speaking at the scene of the incident on Tuesday.
Hamzat stated further that the two victims rescued in the morning had been taken to the hospital and were responding to treatment.
The 21-storey building located on Gerard road was one of the three highrise buildings known as 360 Degrees Towers.
Speaking during an interview with Arise News on Tuesday, an official with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr Ibrahim said that some voices had been detected from underneath the rubbles.

“Yesterday night we were able to recover another body. We now have five alive, four dead. We had a little break of about one to two hours. By the time we woke up, we were hearing voices underground and that is what we are now trying to do.
“The heavyweight on top, we want to bring them down to get to them. We have isolated their locations already and we are trying to get to them” he said.
