Vincent Enyeama makes CAF team Of the decade

Former Super Eagles captain, Vincent Enyeama, has been included in the CAF Team of the Decade, 2011-2020, by International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS).

Enyeama, Nigeria’s joint most capped player in history with 101 international appearances to his name, is the only Nigerian player featured on the list dominated by players with Premier League experience.

In a 4-3-3 formation, Enyeama starts in goal, with Ahmed Fathy (Pyramids/Egypt), Medhi Benatia (Al-Duhail SC/ Morocco), Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli/Senegal) and Eric Bailly (Manchester United/Ivory Coast) as defenders.

The midfield is made up of Ivory Coast and Manchester City legend Yaya Toure, Swansea City’s Ghana star Andre Ayew and Manchester City’s Algeria dazzler Riyad Mahrez.

Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon), Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah (Egypt) and Sadio Mane (Senegal), who shared the Premier League Golden Boot award for the 2018-19 season, have been selected in attack.

Also, for the women’s version of the CAF Team of the Decade, four current Super Falcons made the cut – Osinachi Ohale, Onome Ebi, Ngozi Okobi and Asisat Oshoala.

Ebi and Ohale slot in at left-back and right-back respectively, Okobi is one of two holding midfielders and Oshoala is the center forward.
