Voters lament non arrival of INEC officials in Ikenne

Contrary to INEC promise that accreditation of voters for the presidential and NASS elections will commence at 8.30 am on Saturday, a visit to the various polling units in parts of Ajegunle in Ajeromi/Ifelidun Local govt this morning by our correspondent shows that INEC officials were yet to arrive at the unit.

Some of the voters, who spoke with our correspondent at Polling unit 17 at Ikenne Street Ajegunle expressed their disappointment that the INEC has failed to live up to its promise.

‘Honestly, we are disturbed that up to this moment it’s already 9Am and no INEC officials have arrived and you can see that we are feeling disappointed.

Voters flood polling units to confirm voting area

“If this is a strategy by them to deny us from voting it won’t work. We will wait patiently for them anytime they arrive and we’ll cast our votes.

Meanwhile, INEC officials for polling Unit 16 were seen as at 8:54am setting up their cubicle before the commencement of accreditation.
