Polls: FCT sole Senator, Aduda votes

Senator representing FCT in Nigeria’s Senate, Sen. Phillip Tanimu Aduda has cast his vote in his family home at Old Chief’s Palace, Karu village, Abuja.

Sen. Aduda who drove in at 11:05 am was ushered in amidst cheers into his polling area where he shared pleasantries with people before voting.

Speaking with the press after voting, Aduda said so far all was going well and he remained optimistic.

Aduda who is a ranking senator and one of the longest serving senators said the polls so far was peaceful and progressing in order.

He took the opportunity to commiserate with the PDP over the death of their FCT state party chairman, Sunday Zakka who died in a car crash along side two others hours to the polls.

Aduda is the highest political office holder in the FCT, in the absence of the president, the FCT Minister and minister of state as well as the FCT permanent Secretary who have all travelled out to their respective states to cast their votes.
