Why I wore sneakers to NBA conference-Shettima

The Vice-Presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Kashim Shettima has explained reason behind his outfit at the annual conference of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA).

Recall that Shettima alongside presidential candidate of PDP, Atiku Abubakar and the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi attended the NBA annual conference held at the Eko Atlantic city in Lagos.

However, reactions trailed Shettima’s choice of outfit after he was spotted wearing sneakers on a suit, with many Nigerians replicating his look in mocking photos.

Explaining the reason behind his choice of outfit, Shettima in a video posted online said it was a deliberate move to mock the hostile crowd at the NBA conference.

He said “I was in Lagos for the NBA conference. It was held in Eko Hotels, it was largely funded by the Lagos State Government, the APC government of Lagos State.

“Subsequently, they moved to Eko Atlantic city, a product of an idea conceived by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“When I sent my recce team, One of the presidential candidates, his team held meetings for three consecutive nights to commit mischief.

“When I was told it was a hostile crowd. I’m a banker, trained by one of the best bankers in the world. I’m a Jim Ovia boy. I deliberately wore sneakers to the NBA to mock at them.”
