There was widespread jubilation at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Secretariat, Wadata, Legacy House and Eagles Square, where activities for the party’s National Convention are taking place, following the judgement delivered by the Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt.
The court had dismissed a suit filed by the suspended National Chairman of PDP, Uche Secondus, restraining the party from holding its 2021 National Convention.
The convention is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, October 30 and 31, 2021, in Abuja.
At the National Secretariat, some party faithfuls were seen celebrating the verdict, just as Adamawa Governor and Chairman of the Convention Committee , Ahmadu Fintiri and his colleagues were at a mini party held at Legacy House.
Meanwhile, Fintiri says over three thousand, six hundred candidates will be participating in the convention.
Addressing journalists in Abuja, Fintiri said consensus had been reached on twenty one positions while three positions were being contested for.

He said that the positions being contested for include, the Deputy Chairman South, the Deputy Chairman North and the National Publicity Secretary, zoned to the South East.
The Chairman said the convention would go on as planned and that the venue, logistics and preparations were in order.
Governor Fintiri further stressed that despite the fact that the convention will hold as scheduled, the tenure of the current National Executive Committee will run its course till December 9th, 2021.
