
At Brisbane Stadium on Thursday, the Super Falcons defeated Australia 3-2 in its second fixture at the ongoing FIFA International Women’s World Cup.
This is Nigeria’s first victory in the match and the fifth victory in the Women’s World Cup’s history.
Nigeria came back from a goal down in the second half to defeat hosts Australia 3-1 and go to the top of Group B.

Emily van Egmond took the hosts the lead near the end of the first half, but Nigeria equalized immediately after the interval through Uchenna Kanu.
The Super Falcons’ first win of the competition came thanks to two goals after the break.
With the victory, the Super Falcons’ chances of moving on to the round of 16 have increased after Canada defeated Ireland 2-1 on Wednesday.
The Falcons earned a commendable point in their tournament debut by showcasing their defensive skills, which included custodian Chiamaka Nnadozie saving a penalty.
