Yuletide: NSCDC deploys 5,000 personnel to beef up security

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), says it has deployed 5, 000 personnel to beef up security in Kaduna during Christmas and New Year.

The NSCDC’s Commandant in the state, Dr. Godwin Miebi, made the disclosure in a statement issued by Mr. Habeeb Badamasi, the corps Director of Information in Kaduna on Wednesday.

Miebi said that the deployment was part of the corps culture of ensuring the security of lives of citizens and critical infrastructure.

“The command has approved the deployment of no fewer than 5,000 personnel to places of worship, markets, recreational centers, motor parks, restaurant and bars, and critical national assets among others.’’

Miebi directed Area Commanders to revamp their security apparatus and take into consideration security within and around their domains.

He also directed that the “Operation Yaki Component of the NSCDC’’, the Counter-Terrorism Unit, the Female Arms Squad, Rapid Response Squad, Anti-vandal Unit, patrol those spots during the period.

Miebi commended the people of Kaduna State for their support in 2021 and urged them to always volunteer useful information to fight crime and criminality.

The commandant wished Christians in the state a happy Christmas and urged them to emulate the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.

He also urged them to continue to live in peace with others irrespective of their tribe, ethnicity, religious and political leanings.
