2027: Deji Adeyanju warns against coalition involving El-Rufai

Human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju has warned opposition parties in Nigeria to avoid any coalition that involves the immediate-past Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.

In a post made on his social media pages on Saturday, Adeyanju warned that any coalition involving El-Rufai would fail, telling the former minister to return to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

He wrote, “I need to put this out there now. Any coalition with ElRufai, it’s better for Tinubu to continue. Let El-Rufai just go back to his APC and lobby for his minister of power appointment. He’s not useful for anything. We can’t forget everything he has said and done in the past because of 2027 politics.”

Recall that Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, Mr Peter Obi and El-Rufai kick-started a movement aimed at ending President Bola Tinubu’s rule come 2027.

This was recently confirmed by Atiku who read the text of a Press Conference addressed by a cross-section of leaders and political stakeholders from across the country, in Abuja.

Atiku in response to a question whether the gathering was to kick start a coalition to oust Tinubu in 2007, the former Vice President said “Yes.”
