Banditry: IGP patrols Abuja-Kaduna Expressway

To check the activities of bandits and kidnappers along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, on Saturday again patrolled the road.

The IGP had a week earlier patrolled the same road due to the incessant activities of the bandits.
The second patrol on Saturday was to give the IGP further opportunity to assess the deployment of police personnel and the general security of the road and the entire Kaduna area

A statement issued on Saturday by the Ag. Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, had disclosed this.

It said “The IGP, who graced the wedding ceremony of the daughter of the governor of Delta State, Mrs Ewere Daniel Igo, at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja, earlier today, 9th April, 2022, immediately proceeded on patrol of the route and Kaduna area after the event.

“The IGP also directed the police Airwing to Intensify and sustain the aerial patrol along the road and in Kaduna in general so as to provide air support to the ground troop and stimulate prompt intelligence gathering in the area,” it added.
The Inspector-General of Police, according to the statement, also reiterated his commitment to providing adequate security for everyone in Nigeria.
