In spite of various security measures put in place by the police and other sister agencies coupled with local vigilante groups in combing forests in the Akoko area of Ondo state, a 49-year-Old man, Abayomi Olu was gunned down along Ifefe road between Ajowa and Akunu-Akoko.
Sources disclosed that the deceased was killed by the bandits very close to a spot where the popular Abuja-Ajowa bound driver Toyin Mallah was killed recently on his way from Abuja.

The victim, was on his way to his station on his new motorbike when the incident happened.
It was those coming to Abuja that reportedly discovered his lifeless body in his pool of blood which was later reported to soldiers and the police in the area.
The corpse has been removed and deposited in a morgue.
The entire Ajowa community was in a pensive mood because of the untimely deaths of both the late driver and Abayomi Olukoju.

A community spokesman, Soji Ogedengbe said the Ajowa community has done much in the area of security through communal and self-help efforts.
He disclosed that farmers who used to ply the road for farming activities are now scared.
Ogedengbe called on the police and Amotekun to deploy more personnel to Ajowa-Akoko a border town to Kogi state.
When contacted the Police Area Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police, (ACP) Muri Agboola, and Okeagbe Divisional Police Officer, Superintendent of Police (SP)Paulinus Onnah confirmed the incident.
