Benjamin Kalu woos Ohuabunwa to APC

Ahead of the 2027 general election, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has called on Senator Mao Ohuabunwa to cross the carpet to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ohuabunwa is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a former Senator representing Abia North Senatorial district.

The Deputy Speaker who visited Ohuabunwa in his residence, alongside some chieftains of the ruling party, described themselves as evangelists of the APC and Renewed Hope Agenda, who brought the sermon of President Bola Tinubu.

Kalu commended the former senator for his loyalty to the PDP but noted that he had completed his mission in the opposition party.

Kalu informed Ohuabunwa that their mission is to search for nation-builders who are credible and loyal to partner with Tinubu to move Nigeria forward.

He said, “You’ve proven you’re disciplined and loyal and faithful to your party. There is nothing more to prove. What are you still doing in PDP when you’ve finished everything? You set a mark for yourself, nobody has reached that mark. Now that you’ve reached that mark, will you allow your trophy to be that you stayed with PDP until there was no PDP? No. We are evangelists of APC and renewed hope agenda and we’ve come here today, not only to visit you, but we bring you the good news is President Bola Tinubu.

“The President is happy that I’ve started and it’s moving like wildfire across Nigeria, we’re seeking credible, faithful and loyal partners. These are the attributes that describe who you are. We are calling you on board to play a role, and to partner with the president. For nation-builders like you, it is the greatest patriotic exercise that you’ll give the country.”

He further claimed that Tinubu’s eight-point agenda can’t be completed in just 4 years, stressing that the president needs 8 years to deliver his promises to Nigerians.
