Brighton to face Man Utd in Wembley FA Cup semi-finals showdown

Brighton & Hove Albion will play Manchester United in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
Manchester City will also play Sheffield United in the other semi-final.
Manchester United beat Fulham 3-1 at Old Trafford. Aleksandar Mitrovic put the away side ahead before a brace from Bruno Fernandes and a goal from Marcel Sabitzer sealed the victory for Erik ten Hag’s side.
Mitrovic, Willian and manager Marco Silva were all sent off for the west London club.

Brighton booked their place at Wembley following a 5-0 victory over Grimsby Town yesterday. Striker Evan Ferguson scored a brace while Deniz Undav, Solly March and Kaoru Mitoma also got on the scoresheet.

Sheffield United twice came from behind against Blackburn Rovers to win 3-2 at Bramall Lane, with Thomas Doyle, who is on loan from Manchester City, scoring a long-range effort in injury time to seal the victory for the Championship side.

But Doyle will not be able to play against Manchester City in the semi-final. Current FA rules state that “the association will not give permission for players on loan or work experience to play against the lending club.”
