Cleric to parents: Warn your wards against thuggery

Count down to 2023 general elections, an Islamic Cleric on Friday parents warned parents not to allow their wards involved in political thuggery and other acts that can threaten the peace of the society.
The chief Imam of Arigidi-Akoko in the Northern Senatorial District of Ondo state during today’s Jummah service at Arigidi-Akoko.

Sheik Jimoh Balogun said the call became imperative when one considered the implications of over 100 political thugs apprehended at Ekiti state by soldiers during last week’s party primaries with dangerous weapons.
According to the Chief Imam, our level of democracy since 1999 should be above thuggery acrimony, and lawlessness.

He urged the electorate to look for serious-minded, credible, and not those cash-and-carry politicians.
Balogun hailed President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration for shelving the idea of increasing fuel prices which would have led to high inflation and unbearable hardship to Nigerians.

Suspected internet fraudster docked over forgery, stealing

The Muslim leader appealed to other clerics to always preach the truth and be a role model.
According to him, they should not be carried away with worldly materials.
He prayed for the peace and unity of the country as well as leaders in various tiers of government.
