Not less than six West African countries have arrived Abuja for the much talked about 13th West Africa Deaf Football/3rd Athletics Championships that kicked-off officially on Tuesday 19 August 2025 at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
The technical Committee meeting of all the participating countries where so many issues were trashed out was held on Tuesday as packaged by the West Africa Deaf Sports Union ( WADSU ), under the leadership of Amuda Yusuf Ibrahim.
The two week championship, holding at the Package ‘A’ of the MKO Abiola stadium, Abuja is in commemoration of the 50th anniversary celebration of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS ) and will end on 30th of August, 202’5.
WADSU’s President, Amuda Ibrahim declared the meeting open by officially welcoming all the participants before leaving the floor open for other technical matters. Vice chairman of the Nigeria Deaf Sports Federation ( NDSF) and Chairman of the Main Organising Committee (MOC)/Local Organising Committee, Comrade Olawale Ige-Jenyo, tendered an unreserved apology for any lapses witness so far and emphasised seriously on punctuality as some of the visiting countries did not stick to their arrival time table.
