Court frees security guard accused of stabbing man

A Chief Magistrates’ Court in  Life Camp, Abuja on Monday discharged a 25-year-old security guard, Sani Ibrahim, accused of stabbing a man and causing hurt.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the police charged Ibrahim, who lives in  Galadima, Abuja with causing hurt.

Chief Magistrate Musa Jobbo, discharged Ibrahim, following an application by the Prosecution Counsel, Mrs Charity Nwachukwu to strike out the case for lack of interest by the complainant, Muhammad  Mohammed.

Jobbo, therefore, struck out the case.

“The defendant is  hereby discharged and the First Information Report (FIR) is withdrawn,” he said.

Nwachukwu , told the court that Mohammed, had reported the matter at the Karmo Police Station on July 4th.

Nwachukwu said the complainant alleged that the defendant collected his cellphone to make a call but claimed that the defendant refused to give him the said phone back.

She said  the defendant stabbed the complainant with a knife on his  shoulder.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 246 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
