Death penalty to be reintroduced in Zamfara state

Reckless drivers are to be handed the death sentence in Zamfara state.

This was made mention of by Bello Matawalle, the governor of Zamfara state, following a road accident that cost the lives of fifteen of his supporters.

The accident happened along Sokoto-Gusau road in Tsafe and an investigation has been launched into the cause of the accident. It is reported that the victims were taken to the hospital immediately.

It is hoped that the death sentence would deter drivers from reckless driving.
