Democracy day: Lalong commissions several projects in Plateau

Governor Simon  Lalong of Plateau State on Thursday commissioned several projects he executed in the Central and Northern Senatorial district of Plateau.

Our correspondent reports that Governor Lalong commissioned the resuscitated water treatment plants in Pankshin local government alongside other projects.

The water plant was resuscitated by the Plateau state government in partnership with the world bank.

Lalong said his administration is determined to better the lives of citizens of the state especially those in the rural areas

“We have done a lot in terms of completing inherited and abandoned projects as well as executing new ones in various sectors. Many of them will be commissioned today and in the coming days while others remain ongoing.”

“Like I have emphasized always, all I require is peace to be able to carry out development projects for the people. Without peace, we cannot make any progress which explains why we have focused on building and sustaining peace in Plateau State.

“The outcome is an increase in investment and attraction of Federal programmes and projects.

The Governor further said  that he would continue to do more for Plateau citizens

Lalong added that the world is paying attention and embracing the efforts his administration has made towards restoring normalcy to Plateau State which has resulted in more investors coming into the State while people who left his state because of the ugly events of the past have started returning back to the State.

He called on the people of his state to always bear in mind that there is no way peace can be legislated or forced on people, but Only through a genuine desire to cultivate and nurture peace that lasting peace could be achieved in any society.
