Unknown Man Tries To Whisk voting Materials Away At Dawaki

Shortly after the arrival of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, officials, who came very late at 12:15pm to polling unit 073, located at Dawaki News Engineering, Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, an unknown man had approached the INEC officials after the materials where set up, he picked up the ballot papers and was walking out of the voting premises.

Voters at first thought he was an INEC official, while the drama happened so fast, it soon dawned on people that he wasn’t an INEC official after the presiding officers questioned who he was and where he was going to with the voting materials.

The voters who came to exercise their civic rights immediately suspected fowl play and shouted angrily at the unknown man to return the voting materials which he quietly obeyed and left the premises immediately. He wasn’t seen after then.

Aside from this drama, the voters lamented the late coming of the INEC officials, late arrival of voting materials and the slow voting process.

The polling unit has over 750 registered voters with more than 500 present as at the time of filing this report, and only 42 voters has been accredited so far.

The voters overall looked worn out as some of them who spoke with ThisNigeria had the same complaints. They complained of tiredness from the endless standing under the scorching sun as there were no seats available to sit down. Everybody present aside the INEC officials can be seen standing.
