Over the past few days, protests have rocked the country. The protesters are chanting with one loud voice, #EndSARS.
These protests have taken place with many celebrities joining in the march. Their demand is clear, that the Federal Government scrap the police arm not reform it. Different reports have reached the authorities and today, it was another story of loss.
An innocent bystander was shot in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
While the protest was taking place a distance away, a young man was looking on and got shot. Jimoh Isiaq was then rushed to Bowen University Teaching hospital where he died.
Short clips of his last few moments have circulated Twitter showing that the young man was not close to the hub of activity.
Isiaq was many metres away, unarmed.
Protesters have asked that justice be served and they will stop at nothing to see that their demands are met.
Earlier, the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, banned SARS operatives from setting up roadblocks or stop and search but members of the public say that this is one time too many. Their placards carry a tale of woe and despondency to mask their anger.
Isiaq has since been buried according to Islamic laws.
