Ahead of the general elections, the National Universities Commission (NUC) has ordered the closure all of universities in the country.

In a letter addressed to all Vice-chancellors and directors of inter-university centres, the NUC directed them to shutdown institutions from February 22 to March 14th, 2023.

According to the commission, the closure is to allow students participate in the forthcoming general elections set to hold on February 25th and March 1st 2023.
