Gunmen free abducted Ondo surveyors after ransom payment

Nine abducted surveyors in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State have regained their freedom after a ₦20 million ransom was paid to their captors.
The development was confirmed by Pastor Ajibade Owolanke, a brother to the Ejemikin of Akure, High Chief Oluwole Omotayo.
According to Owolanke, the surveyors were freed on Tuesday night and were in Akure, the state capital.
Recall that the surveyors were abducted last week at a site in Ilu-Abo area of the state.
The abductors had earlier demanded ₦100 million for their release, but after negotiations, market women intervened, pleading for a reduction.
