Tragedy struck during the 2025 Hajj exercise as a pilgrim from Plateau State, Hajiya Jamila Muhammad, died in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
It was gathered that Muhammad lost her life due to complications from diabetes.
Confirming her death, the Executive Secretary of the Muslim State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mr. Daiyabu Dauda, in a statement to journalists on Tuesday said the deceased passed away at the King Abdul’aziz Hospital, Makkah.
According to the statement “When the complications began, we immediately took her to the hospital for proper medication in line with our mandate.’
“Unfortunately, we lost her and the doctor at the hospital confirmed it was complications due to diabetes,” he said.
Just recently, a 75-year-old female pilgrim from Edo State, Mrs Danzumi Adizatu passed away in the ongoing 2025 Hajj exercise in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
Dazumi, a native of Jattu Uzairue in the Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, was said to have died at King Fahad General Hospital in Makkah after a brief illness.
