The Executive Director of the Association of Electricity Distributors (ANED), Sunday Oduntan, has raised the alarm over the alleged threat to his life by the Nigerian military.

Oduntan, the spokesperson for 11 electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos), made this known yesterday in an interview with TVC.

He spoke about the recent invasion of Ikeja Electric by personnel from the Nigerian Air Force Base in Ikeja.

Recall that personnel of the Nigerian military were seen in a close-circuit television video to have invaded Ikeja Electric on March 6, 2025.

In the video, military officers manhandled the staff of the Disco over electricity disconnection.

Speaking on the invasion, Oduntan yesterday said about ten Ikeja Electric staff members were hospitalised after the military personnel beat them up.

He called for the intervention of the National Security Adviser and the Nigerian government to avert anarchy.

“I was there on that day. You can see how they were beating the staff of Ikeja Electric in the corridor.

“I am terrified. They are threatening me as a person. This is why I say in civil society, unless the political class does something about this military, if you think there cannot be military intervention in this country, you are joking,” Oduntan said.
