Insecurity in Edo: Things are getting out of hand-Edo Rep members

By Ben Ogbemudia
Members of the House of Representatives from Edo state under the platform of the All Progressives Congress on Tuesday expressed serious concern over the alarming rate of insecurity in the state.
The Federal Lawmakers who spoke through Professor Julius Ihonvbere called on the relevant security agencies and Governor Godwin Obaseki to handle the situation without further delay.
” Edo state used to be super safe. Those in the domestic and global diaspora always looked forward to coming home as were tourists and investors. Today this has changed.
” The state is no longer safe. This is very unfortunate. The state government and security operatives must take the issue of security as top priority. All stakeholders must be involved. Clear action lines must be adopted. Things are getting out of hand.”
Ihonvbere said the criminals are having a field day operating in the state with no life safe anymore.
” Can you imagine the hoodlums went to the popular new Benin market , operated freely for hours, killed people unchallenged , you can travel Benin /Auchi road , the other day two persons killed and over 26 persons kidnapped, how long can we continue like this, living in fears, many can go home anymore,” he lamented.
