Iskilu Wakili should be charged – Fani-Kayode
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has said that the alleged kidnapper, Iskilu Wakili, who was arrested on Sunday should not be released but should be charged to court.
Fani-Kayode in a series of tweets on Monday said that Wakili should be charged to court as soon as possible and that he is brought to justice for his the horrendous crimes against the people of Ibarapa, Oyo state and the South West.
Fani-Kayode also called for the immediate release of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) members who arrested Wakili on Sunday in Ibarapa North LGA.
He said”…Under no circumstances should Wakili be set free. If that were to happen for any reason it would threaten and jeopardise the peace process that has been put in place very badly and it would cause many to lose faith and hope in what we are trying to achieve.
Fani-Kayode went on to congratulate Iba Gani Adams, the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland saying: ‘I congratulate my friend & brother, Iba Gani Adams, the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland & the OPC for the successful capture of Wakili, one of the most barbaric & notorious foreign Fulani terrorists & cold-blooded killers, in the country. This is the way forward. Kudos!
..I also call on them to charge Wakili to court as soon as possible & ensure that he is brought to justice for his horrendous crimes against the people of Ibarapa, Oyo state & the South West. Finally I call for the immediate release of the OPC heroes who arrested the monster..
..called Wakili & who handed him over to the authorities in one piece. Be rest assured that where the authorities refuse to arrest terrorists in the SW we reserve the right to do it ourselves & hand them over to the police for investigation. Finally let me say the following.
Breaking: Iskilu Wakili, a Fulani herdsman who allegedly seized hectares of farmlands, raped the women, and kidnapped their rich men for ransom in Ayete, a town in the Ibarapa area of Oyo State, has been arrested.
