Kano aide, Yakasai, suspended immediately

Salihu Yakasai, Special Adviser on Media to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, has been suspended with immediate effect.
This was announced by the Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, via a statement on Sunday afternoon. He announced that the suspension was to be effective immediately.
He further said that Yakasai has owned up to the comment as his own personal opinion and not that of the Kano State government. He said that as a public figure, it would be difficult to differentiate between one’s personal opinion and official stand on matters of public concern.
Yakasai, in turn, tweeted @dawisu, “Whatever u do in life, make sure u never lose ur voice. Speak up against injustice, speak up against inaction, speak up for what u believe in, demand for ur right and never let a temporary position or privilege stop u from standing with the people. Enough is enough! #EndSARS.”
Furthermore, Ganduje warned that political appointees and public servants must guard their speech in order not to create unnecessary controversy. The Governor reaffirmed his commitment to the Buhari administration.
