
Mr. Joseph Izuchukwu, 25, was Monday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ibadan for alleged vandalism of transformer cables.
Mr. Izuchukwu, with undisclosed address, was arraigned on a three-count charge, bordering on conspiracy, vandalism, and assault.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
The Magistrate, Mrs. Munirat-Giwa Babalola, granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Babalola, thereafter, adjourned the matter to March 28 for hearing.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Sgt. Oluseye Akinola told the court that Izuchukwu and others at large allegedly conspired to commit the offense.

Akinola said: “The defendant on Aug. 23, 2021, and Oct. 9, 2021, allegedly vandalized the cables attached to the transformer of Alomaja area, off Idi-Ayunre, Ibadan.
“The defendant was alleged to have conducted himself in a manner that caused a breach of the peace by ganging up to beat one Sanni, an Indomie seller in the area,” Akinola said.
He said the offense contravened Section 249 (1) 390 and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.
