Myanmar imposes stay-at-home order in Letpadan amid rise in COVID-19 infections

Myanmar’s Ministry of Health and Sports has imposed a stay-at-home order in Letpadan Township, Bago region, amid a spike in Coronavirus (COVID-19) infections.
The country’s state-run media reported this on Friday citing a statement by the ministry.
The stay-at-home order will be in effect beginning Saturday as the township has recently seen a rise in the COVID-19 test positivity rate.

According to the statement, Myanmar reported 301 new COVID-19 infections with one more death in the past 24 hours.
The COVID-19 cases rose to 147,069 while its death toll was recorded at 3,251 as of Friday, the statement said.
A total of 133,452 recovered patients have been discharged from hospitals so far.
